Ekhaya Rising is a community-driven initiative dedicated to empowering children and young women in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Our name, Ekhaya — meaning “home” — reflects our belief that true change begins within communities, where dignity and opportunity can take root.

We are at the beginning of our journey, but our mission is clear: to provide access to education, resources, and support that help young people rise beyond their circumstances. From donating books and school supplies to creating scholarships for talented students and empowering girls through dedicated programs, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future.

Our work is guided by three core values: transparency, dignity, and community empowerment. We believe development should be people-centered, collaborative, and respectful of local voices. This can be summarised as ubuntu.

Though we are small today, our vision is big — to grow into a trusted platform that connects communities, donors, and partners in creating lasting, sustainable change across Africa.
